Reading Homework

Please remember that part of your student's nightly homework is to read for at least 20 minutes and to fill out the Reading Log in her Take Home folder. As stated before, your child should fill out all parts of the Reading Log, discuss it with you, then have you initial it. Thank you for your help in supporting your student.

Sweetheart's Dance

Please join us Friday, Feb. 11, for the Sweetheart's Dance. Students may bring a special adult with them to this formal dance. Tickets are available in the office. Two tickets cost $20, and additional tickets cost $8. We hope to see you there!

Backpacks

Please check your student's backpack daily for important notes, reminders, and homework. I heard from several parents at Exhibition that they did not receive or see things I had sent home. I can make sure that notes get into their bags, so please make sure you check their bags for those notes.

Also, please check your students' bags to make sure they are only bringing things necessary for school (homework, snack/lunch, gym shoes when needed). Several students have brought things to school that should be kept at home (toys, family pictures, markers and pens, cell phones, blankets). Your cooperation in reducing distractions is appreciated!

One down, two to go...

Our first Exhibition week is under our belts. Exhibitions are a unique opportunity for students to showcase what they've learned over the trimester. It can also be a trying time for the students as they sit through 16 presentations. Helping your student prepare for his Exhibition and making sure he presents on time makes this long week run smoothly. Thank you to all the families who made sure their students were prepared and on time.

Second trimester Exhibitions will take place the week of March 14.  Learning plans will go home next week, and there's no time like the present to get started!
