Clothing Reminder

Please remember that uniform shoes need to be solid black or brown. Contrast stitching or colorful designs are not considered uniform. Gym shoes should be brought to school for your student to change into, not worn to school. Sweaters need to be sweater material (no sweat shirts or fleece) without hoods.

Additionally, the weather is getting increasingly colder. Please send your student to school appropriately dressed for the weather in a warm coat with a working zipper, hats and gloves. Also, remind your child that they are responsible for keeping track of these items when in school. Thanks for your cooperation!

Exhibition Reminder

This Thursday, November 18, our 3rd Milestone is due. Students need to turn in the visuals for their Interest Project. For example, students can bring their completed tri-fold board or the pictures they will be putting on their board. Or, they can bring the flash drive/cd with their completed power point presentation, or the book they wrote or poster they created.

Parents as Partners Meeting

This month's Parents as Partners meeting will be Thursday, November 18.  Wayne State University's Pharmacy School is partnering with us for Healthy Initiatives Night, where you can learn about ways to destress and live a healthy lifestyle. Book It

I want your child to keep turning pages all year long, and have enrolled our class in the BOOK IT!® Program to do just that!
The BOOK IT! Program is sponsored by Pizza Hut® and has been motivating children to read more for over 25 years.  The program runs from October through March, is really simple, and lots of fun.
Your child has the opportunity to earn Reading Award Certificates by meeting monthly reading goals that I will set. The Reading Award Certificates can be redeemed at Pizza Hut where your child will receive a BOOK IT! award and a free, one-topping Personal Pan Pizza®.  You will have 30 days from the date of the award to redeem it and there is no purchase necessary.
You can help your child meet these goals by encouraging them to read every day.  BOOK IT! has also created a free parent newsletter, Bound Together, that provides reading tips, ideas and activities. Sign up for Bound Together and learn more about the BOOK IT! Program at www.bookitprogram.com.

Students will earn monthly Reading Award Certificates by completing their daily Reading Log each night, Monday through Thursday. Students who complete the Reading Log each night, on time, without missing days, will receive a certificate for that month.

They are recognized as the greatest mariachi in the world. If you receive free or reduced lunch, a bag lunch will be provided for you. Otherwise please bring a lunch from home. We will not need any volunteers for this field trip. This field trip costs $2.00. Please send in the money by Wednesday, November 3

Uniform

I have been pleased to see so many students dressed neatly and appropriately for school each day. However, please remember that uniform colors for bottoms are black or khaki, not navy blue. Socks for both boys and girls need to be solid black, white, or red. Also, shirts for both boys and girls need to be tucked in at all times.
